COMPETITION







Date: 1 August 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 10 am – 3 pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre 68E, Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre
Closing date for registration: 20 July 2009

Each secondary school may send up to two teams to participate in the competition and each team should comprise three to five members, excluding their teacher-mentor.

It is compulsory for all students participating in the competition to attend the conference on 18 July 2009 (Saturday).

Student mentors from the School of Film & Media Studies will provide support and guidance to the school teams during the preparation phase.

Prizes:

1st Place: $1500 cash and a trophy
2nd place: $1000 cash and a trophy
3rd Place: $500 cash and a trophy
4th and 5th Place: $200 cash

All participating students will also receive a certificate of participation as a token of appreciation for their participation.

What Teams Need to Produce:

   1. Campaign Proposal

    * A brief on the issue(s) faced while reaching out to their schoolmates
    * A proposed integrated marketing campaign as a solution to the
      issue(s)

   2. Campaign Poster

    * Poster design in A3 size
    * Competing teams should print the poster and present it in soft copy
      during the pitch

   3. Event/Activity

    * Theme of the event/activity
    * Programme outline of the event/activity
    * Means of publicity using Advertising/PR/Marketing tools

   4. Webpage

    * Design of homepage
    * Competing teams just need to present the homepage design

Judging Criteria:

    * Poster (30%)

  • Creativity* (10%)
  • Use of typography (10%)
  • Effectiveness** of poster (10%)

    * Event (30%)

  • Creatives and Collaterals using PR tools (10%)
  • Programme outline (10%)
  • Effectiveness** of event (10%)

    * Website (30%)

  • Creativity* (15%)
  • Effectiveness** (15%)

    * Overall effectiveness of integrated campaign (5%)
    * Overall presentation (5%)

*Creativity means an idea that is workable, is appropriate for the campaign message and gives maximum mileage.

**Effectiveness means achieving the objectives of the campaign, being appropriate for the campaign message, being relevant to the target public, and maximising resources.
